Wonder Festival 2008 Summer Report

And then, I headed to Armor Modeling's booth, where Yokoyama sensei was hanging out.
Here, he is examining a kit that was brought by one of the dealers seeking comments from the Master.

Naturally, Mrs. Yokoyama was also there.
(But I only managed to take the picture of her Blythe doll, and the key chains and mobile phone straps she was selling; just so you know that she's not in the picture...)

This is also the place where you can admire in person many of the models that have been featured in various Ma.K books.

This time, it seems like dioramas was the theme...

... from jungle to ...

... snow ...

.. with lots of figures, of course!

Here's one I know nothing about!

And of course the Falke is omnipresent!
This pretty much wraps the Ma.K portion of the WF report. But before closing, I'd like to share one of the many fortuitous encounters, which can only occur in the randomness of your wandering around searching for something and finding something else.

This is called Garetta, an original creation at 1/48 by RW Alliance.

The design is irresitibly cool, and is calling for Ma.K-style painting!
At the end of the WF, I met Lincoln and his brother Travis who came to me when I was finishing cleaning the table area. We then heard the head of the WF organization committee apologize for the incident that made life impossible for everyone, adding that although the next WF has been announced for February 2009, they were inclined to revise the whole operation in view of the now infamous incident (NHK, THE national TV station in Japan reported on it in the evening news!) casting a thick shadow over the months to come...
In any case, we headed out of what I call another successful WF despite the chaos.

Bye, HERO who saved the day!

Hm, a cousin of R2D2?
Even trash is orderly in Japan!
BTW, most of the vending machines in and around the venue were sold out of their beverages!

So long, ladies, hope to see you again!

Stepping out, I recalled that the day started with a hazy sky, and I was noticing that it was about to end the same way, when...

... the Tyrell pyramid?!?!?!

In Tokyo?!?!?!
Hurray it's finished!
I missed the news.
What about the after-party?
