So was the event itself over.
I say thank you to everybody involved, organizers, dealers, visitors alike. And hope to see you again for the next one!
After getting rid of the only thing between us and the beer, that is to say packing up and clearing the place, off we went to the infamous and obligatory closing party!
A cheerful Sensei thanks everyone for making this Wonder Festival a truely memorable one.
Speaking of memory, there was a moment of remembrance for the three modelers that passed away recently, all of whom were from the same generation as Sensei's.
Sensei mentioned that from now on, he will also be building models on behalf of his late friends, remembering each one of them while building a model.
Here's another take at Ma.K in Action!
Catching Sensei racing from table to table to cheer with each one of us is challenging!
Aware of the difficulties, Sensei is asking if I wanted him to stop moving!
Sir, no, Sir!
A closing party goes like this:
People drink, eat, chat and chat more, in that order.
Then, they start pulling models out of their bags to show them off.
After a while, the models migrate from table to table, and a lot of them end up in Sensei's hands.
Praises and recommendations are given by the Master, to the multiple nods from the one who made the model.
After everyone is happy, everyone is thanked again by Sensei, and we gradually split, making sure we'll see each other for the next WF at the latest.
This is a picture illustrating the flow of events described above, somewhere in the middle of it, rendered by a really talented modeler!
This shot reminds me that T-shirts are also excellent media for showing off Ma.Kness!
Really, the figures are 1/35 scale, and given that the models are 1/20 with respect thereto, they are ... 1/700 scale!!!!!
And I thought the 1/144 Nutrocker was at the smallest scale!
But at that scale of 1/700...
... could Ma.K start a waterline series of ships...?
(wink,wink)
You'll notice inevitably, the lack of ladies in this crowd.
When will such nice looking creatures join our tables?
Well, here's Mr. Kroete (1/35, by D3 Works?) trying to be a gentleman by looking away from the ladies while they... er... adjust their outfits...
Meanwhile, a contingent of Pawns has arrived, only to be confronted by empty plates.
How unlucky!
So is this Kerberos (1/35, Zionel Westen Bis, INSTANTLY SOLD OUT!!!), who'd snatch any Maschinen on the table if we don't watch him!
This SAFS is luckier but has a dilemma:
Into the delicious tofu
To dive or not to dive
That is the Ma.Kuestion.
This Gustav has no such existential issues, and is even ready to trade a cease-fire for a little dip into that mountain of protein.
Here we are served with a yummy boiled Zerstover (1/76, Kotatsu Kingdom, SOLD OUT!!!)....
... and here with a fried Kerberos (same as above), with a choice of Oskar sour cream, Hornisse hot sauce or F-boot dressing on the side (all 1/76, from Kotatsu Kingdom).
